WHAT IS OPTIMAL HEALTH FOR YOU?

You were born to be healthy, happy and energetic. This is the big idea behind this book. If you’re not feeling vibrant, you’ve just allowed life and all of its challenges and temptations to devolve your health to the point it is now. Sure, you can say it is because of age, or bad genes or an old injury or…

Or you can choose to explore the premise that you can evolve and maintain a state of optimal health. You can feel as good as is possible for you. You can be energized each morning, possessing the vitality to care for yourself and everyone you love. You can reignite your curiosity about the world around you and get back out there as an active participant. You can rise above the excuses and own your power.

I’m not promising you will run a 5-minute mile or deadlift 300 pounds or lose the next 10 pounds. That’s not the point. However, I believe you will optimize your health from where you are now. I believe you will regain the energy you thought was lost to age. I believe you will choose to eat in a way which nourishes yourself. I believe you will live your best life and be able to give more to everyone around you.

The Price of Now

The fact is you have so much more to give others…and yourself! Like a lab rat, you’ve learned to negotiate the maze for a reward you have accepted. Yet, no matter how sweet the reward is, it loses its novelty over time. When this happens, the scientist must introduce a new reward to encourage the rat to run the maze. You may feel like a rat in a rut, but really you are the brilliant scientist who can discover a new challenge and a new reward. 

Otherwise, yesterday, tomorrow and next April are all going to be the same, unless you do something different. Now. This moment is all you really have and the price of now is your life. You can choose to change your mindset and your actions right now. Furthermore, when you change your viewpoint about who you are and what you are capable (worthy) of, then the good stuff begins.  

What is the price you are paying for this moment? You are either adding value or deducting time and opportunity from the life you desire. Is this a price you are willing to pay?

There Is No Time to Waste

So, this is it. Whether you look at it from a mystical, quantum physics or anecdotal perspective, you have no time to waste. The days may feel long, but the years are short and tomorrow and the day after are coming faster than you think. What do you want them to look like? Are you content to float along hoping you’ll win the energy lottery? Or maybe the perfect person will arrive in your life and inspire you to exercise. Perhaps tomorrow is the day you finally learn to cook and eat healthy.

Am I willing to decide, is the question you need to ask yourself? What is a decision you have been avoiding in the hope it will be made for you? Are you waiting to commit to daily exercise because work is too busy right now? Or will you start eating healthier when your spouse stops ordering pizza? 

Maybe you can’t decide because you’re afraid. If that’s the case, you’re on the right track. When you decide to move forward you will gain clarity, you will feel a rush of energy (call it fear, call it excitement, call it whatever you want) and you will put action behind your decision. 

Let’s Go! 

You would not be reading this if you weren’t ready to own your power. This process is based upon an acknowledgment of the influence your thoughts and feelings have over your body. In these pages you will address the influence of your family, friends, the media and others in your life. This is not about blaming yourself or others for where you are now. When you begin to recognize and release the fallacious mind viruses you innocently accepted, you can release them and choose a mindset that supports you. It is your willingness to release mental patterns, which opens you up to the joyful aliveness you deserve.
